Box Tops/Labels for Education
Open
Organizes contests and prizes, collects and counts and then submits for a profit from the organizations. *Occasional drop in to collect but mainly an at home position and phone calls. Volunteers needed 4-5.
Classroom Parties

Head Classroom Parents sign up during Curriculum Night and plan three parties a year.  They coordinate their classroom volunteers before the party.  Each class is only allowed four volunteers per party.  The parties will coincide with Halloween, Winter Break and Valentine’s Day.
Daddy/Daughter Dance
Open
Plan everything from the theme of the dance, to the decorations and activities.  This event occurs in early March. Committee volunteers start planning in the fall to assist with planning and assistance throughout the dance. Day of Event volunteers needed 10.

Fall Carnival

A Fall theme carnival which is free for all BBES families! And it begins work in the fall with planning the carnival for late fall/early winter. The carnival is a community event that has Halloween theme games and prizes for every game and fun stations like sandy candy and a cake walk. This a fundraiser event that operates with participants buying tickets for games and activities and redeeming tickets for prizes. The committee is responsible for planning and setting up the games as well as hosting a concession stand and bake sale. Other duties include a concessions chairperson, volunteer coordinator and bake sale coordinator. Volunteers are requested to work only for one hour during the event and are rewarded with free tickets depending on how long they work. Students grade 4 and up make a perfect team with a parent. *Committee planning is mainly an at home position, with exception of picking up whatever necessary requirements of equipment. Day of Event volunteers is crucial to success. Volunteers needed are 60+ individuals.

Field Day

This is held during school the last day of school. It is an outdoor activity that each class participates in. The committee chooses the theme and plans games within that theme.  Volunteers are needed for the setup and throughout the day to assist with running the games. *Committee planning is mainly an at home position, with exception of picking up whatever necessary requirements of equipment. Day of Event volunteers is crucial to success. Volunteers needed are 60+ individuals.
Food for Fun and Funds

This committee is generally just a couple of people and a majority of the work occurs during late summer.  The committee works with local restaurants to set up once a month family dining nights during the school year in which the restaurants will give BBES a portion of their profits. *Mostly an at home position with phone calls.

This committee plans dinners for the teachers during Parent/Teacher conferences and providing breakfast for Veteran’s Day and refreshments for Kindergarten roundup. They plan what is requested of parents to send in food donations or asking for local food donations, such as Panera and Dunkin Donuts. *Event planning is an at home position with pick up and setup for events. Day of Volunteers needed for Veteran’s Day 2, Kindergarten Roundup 2.
Mother/Son Event

This committee plans the event for Mother and Sons. Each year it varies to what is planned based on attendance and interest. The committee is responsible for planning the event and determining the location of the event.
Movie Night
Open
A free family event with concessions available for purchase.  The committee chooses family friendly movies that are shown in the gym in the fall and the winter (usually). Volunteers are needed during the movie for the concession stand. *Mostly an at home planning position, need of day of event volunteers. Volunteers needed 4-5.

Photo Committee

Responsibilities include taking pictures of the BBES PTO events and submitting them to the board so we can add them to the yearbook. *This is an ongoing - on site position. If you are available and taking pictures, please forward them to the board.

School T-Shirts

This committee will plan and order t-shirts for every student at BBES and provided them at no cost. Committee responsibilities include soliciting monetary donations, choosing a logo and coordinating sizes for the t-shirts and distribution of the t-shirts to the students. *This is an at home position of data entry and then on site distribution.
Teacher Appreciation

The first full week in May is Teacher Appreciation week.  The committee is responsible for planning the week’s events (breakfast, 2 lunches, and dessert night).  Food donations are sent in by our wonderful parents. *This is a collection of donations and providing day of need for a week. Possible phone calls and organization of donations.
TerraCycle
Sara Duran
A recycling program that the committee collects and sends in for money while encouraging our families to be green. Responsibilities include, with the assistance of our Sensational Sixth Graders, the collecting of items around the school and keeping the bins clean and running the occasional contest.
Veteran's Day

In honor of our veterans and active duty service members we celebrate Veteran’s Day with an assembly and have volunteer veterans in the classroom to describe their experiences and answer questions.  This committee coordinates the volunteers and makes sure every classroom has a veteran visit.  As well as providing a breakfast for the veteran and their BBES student. *Veteran Volunteers in need are approximately 26-30. Depending on the number of classes.

Maintain the BBES PTO website with updates from all board members, committee members, principal and teachers.  Ensure all renewals are up to date including domain name and hosting.  Create email accounts and train users on access.  Coordinate with Facebook Co-Chair to ensure data is correctly placed.

Maintain the BBES PTO Facebook page with events and posts from all board members, committee members, principal and teachers.  Maintain the Message section and ensure all questions/requests including Posts by Others are answered or routed appropriately. Maintain Admin access and train as necessary. Coordinate with the website Co-Chair to ensure data is correctly placed.

Maintain the volunteer spot with updated volunteer opportunities from all board members, committee members, principal and teachers. Coordinate with committee members, website and Facebook chair to ensure data is correct and promotion of needed volunteers on the PTO website and Facebook page.
